Researching crime prevention and intervention techniques

UQ Cyber Criminology researchers focus on the human aspects of cybercrime and cyber security. They collaborate with local and international experts across social science, humanities, law, business, IT, computer science, policing, and the public sector to research topics including online child exploitation; organised crime and transnational crime; drug trafficking; human trafficking; financially motivated crime (e.g., online scams); anonymity and criminal activities on social media and the Dark Web; cybercrime prevention and intervention techniques; crime policy and law; and the skills gap faced by those at the frontline of cybercrime response, investigation, and prevention.
