UQ Cyber Research Centre is the University of Queensland’s cross-disciplinary cyber security initiative that advances research, education, and community outreach through partnerships with industry, government, and academia. It focuses on cutting-edge topics like AI for cyber defence, secure quantum computing, and organisational resilience, while providing talent pipelines, specialised facilities, and collaborative opportunities to address global cyber security challenges.

 


Our Research Focus/Priorities

UQ Cyber Security is a university wide initiative, undertaking research, teaching and outreach from diverse fields, including technology, business, mathematics, social science and law.

  • Our research delves into some of the biggest challenges within cyber security - from cutting edge topics like secure quantum communication to broader governance and policy issues facing the sector. 
  • Our inter-disciplinary teaching programs recognise that cyber security is a field requiring both deep specialist skills and experience as well as broad strategic insight into the global cyber security landscape. 
  • Our outreach activities include: regular workshops, conferences and other training activities aimed at enhancing awareness and capability within the broader community.
