Cyber Security Internship Program

Master of Cyber Security students have the opportunity to apply for a position in UQ’s Cyber Security Internship Program. This year-long program offers valuable hands-on experience through rotations across four specialist areas: the Cyber Security Operations Centre, Risk and Assurance, Outreach and Culture, and AUSCERT. Interns will develop a comprehensive understanding of cyber security within a large and complex organisation, gaining insight into how these teams work together to protect the University’s digital environment and strengthen its overall cyber resilience.

The roles provide participants the opportunity to:

  • Support the delivery of cyber security initiatives across the Cyber Security Operations Centre, Risk and Assurance, Outreach and Culture and AUSCERT functions.

  • Assist with monitoring, reporting, incident response, risk assessment and compliance-related activities under supervision.

  • Contribute to awareness campaigns and engagement initiatives that promote a strong cyber security culture.

  • Collaborate with AUSCERT to gain exposure to threat intelligence, incident support, and vulnerability management.
